Syndicat mixte presentation

The syndicat mixte of Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées « PYRÉNIA » airport area is a public organisation whichs regroups three local authorities:

  • Pyrénées Méditerranée Occitanie Regional Council,
  • Hautes-Pyrénées County Council,
  • the Communauté d’Agglomération of Tarbes Lourdes Pyrénées.

Created on July 12,2005, the syndicat is not an establishment with its own tax status and does not collect taxes. It is financed by the contributions given by member-communities.

The syndical committee

The syndical committee whose delegates are appointed by local member communities presides over decisions concerning two jurisdictions of the syndicat mixte: the building and developing of an activity centre dealing mainly with aeronautics and also the managing and operating of the international Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées airport.
